"Better listen to the string that burst, then never to draw your bow!"

Leif Ögård has had Parkinson's since February 18, 1988 and he's still healthy!

Leif´s credo is "I have Parkinson's, but Parkinson's does not have me"! He thinks about his credo every day in order to keep the right attitude towards his situation. It has been a great help many, many times when the feelings of hopelessness are about to take over. Then it encourages him, gives him strength and that little sparkle he think is so necessary to be able to start all over again.

Read Leif's latest newsletter below.

I was raised with that quotation and it has influenced me so much that I every day go out in the garden and draw my bow. But there are more driving forces behind my addiction for archery.

Another reason is that I am second cousin to Bertil Olsson who at the age of 24 became World Champion (on short range and also set three World records) in Helsinki, Suomi-Finland, WC Tournament, 1955. Of course I have admired him since then and I always have him and his excellence in my mind when I draw my bow.

My third reason for loving this part of my daily training in particular is linked to Parkinson. There's obviously a lot of people of the opinion that you can forget sports like archery, golf, table tennis and bowling when you get Parkinson's. But they are completely wrong. I practice them all and with good results!

I love the challenge of mastering a sport that demands the opposite to all that Parkinson "offers"! I hope you can understand/feel a fraction of the pleasure that fills my body, When I draw my bow and hit a 10/1! Jiiaaahhhhhoooooo!

You can watch a couple of scenes from my daily archery exercise in order to sharpen my mind and to trim my body by a click on the following link:

This is a part of my daily routine in order to handle Parkinson. I intend to fight him every day and I intend to win every day. This to make sure that Mr. Parkinson does not have time to build in any traps for me in the future.

I also intend to have a healthy body and a vital mind the day the scientists find the solution on the remaining questions regarding Parkinson. As a matter of fact I do believe the solution will be found tomorrow at 10.15 (local time, Sweden!)

There are more video on the way , so check in on www.masterparkinson.com now and then please. The site is under reconstruction and some differences will be obvious rather soon. Master Parkinson will be a much more active home page in the future. Among other new things we plan to sell another book on the site, but more about that when we know for sure!

If you like what you see on youtube or on my Web-side please feel free to comment, rate and share it. It will be highly appreciated.

Best regards
